Product Details

Compared to many of its peers in the Medoc, Chateau Gloria is a relative new comer.
Its owner Henri Martin purchased 6 hectares during the war in 1942 on advisement from a friend Jean-Charles Cazes of the great Chateau Lynch Bages. Over time this has grown to an impressive 48 hectares in the prestigious St Julien appellation.

Rated by many as one of the best buys in St Julien from this outstanding vintage, it's cépage comprises 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot. Powerfully structured, layers of blackberry and black current fruit intermingle with the finest of French oak, of which 40% on average in new. Watch this beauty evolve over many years!

'Dark, toasty oak does not stop the pure dark fruit, mildly herbal, shining through. Lovely combination on the palate of savoury dark fruit and cool freshness. Full flavoured in a taut and elegant framework with a touch of leafy fragrance at the very end. Delicious.' - Jancis Robinson | March 2012.
