Product Details

The owners of Chateau Lafleur in Pomerol, Sylvie and Jacques Guinaudeau, launched in 2009 a new project under the label G Guinaudeau wines. The Bordeaux vineyards, platend with 60% Merlot and 40% Cab. Franc, for the G Guinaudeau wines are located in the Fronsac appellation, but the wines are classified as Bordeaux Superieur.

The vineyards soil and terroir offer a similar aspect to those found in St. Emilion according to Jacques Guinaudeau. Vinification takes place in traditional cement vats and the wine is aged in an average of 33% new French oak barrels for 15 months with total production reaching approximately 1,000 cases of wine per year.

The style is seductive, round, generous wine with notes of kirsch liqueur intermixed with lavender and hints of anise and spice box. Fruity and seriously endowed, this is a pretty wine to drink over the next 5-6 years to 2015.
