Product Details

We love the work of Senior Winemaker Paul Smith and the team at Wirra Wirra with world beating McLaren Vale Shiraz such as the RSW, Chook Block and Woodhenge. So we jumped at the chance to collaborate with Wirra Wirra and produce our own perfumed, juicy style of Shiraz under the label - Sexton's Acre. The Bethany Church across the road from Wirra Wirra's cellars inspired the name 'Church Block', and this new release is named after the church's resident sexton who maintained the buildings and graveyard and ruled the roost in the early days.

This medium-bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz is true to varietal and region, displaying classic characters of plum and red berries with hints of chocolate and spice.
It's generous, silky and one glass will simply not be enough! This wine shows a great deal of family resemblance to the other highly rated (and somewhat more expensive)
Shiraz' in the Wirra Wirra line up.

Great value, mid-week Shiraz. Great upfront fruits, with smooth finish. A definite match with pizza.

Church block is one of my favourite wines so I had to try this release from Wirra Wirra, and I wasn't disappointed! More medium bodied and with more acidity and spice than church block the sextons acre provides a welcome change, medium body, light plum and blueberries, mild spice and some star anise, drinking well now!
