Product Details

Truly the most versatile white we saw in in the entire tasting line up! This wine from the foothills of the Pyrenees holds appeal for both sauvignon and chardonnay drinkers alike.

In the south-west of France life is simple and joyful. It’s also a perfect way to describe the Chemins de Gascogne. Located in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, the vineyards are subject to very warm summer days and very cool nights. The grapes are harvested during September in the dead of night to preserve the aromatics. The wine, a blend of chardonnay and the local colombard grape, exhibits every bit of this labour of love.

Our golden child from south-west France, we were blown away by this textured and zippy white with its unique orchard fruit flavours. Simply delicious!

What’s not to like? I don't describe many wines in this manner, but this one is best described as a wine that can be gulped. It's so uber fresh, pure and clean, made in the basic way possible, no oak, cool fermentation, no malolactic fermentation. All you get is the expressive aromas and flavours from the two grape varieties, Colombard and Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is sourced from Plaimont Producteurs that is located in the Cotes de Gascogne, outside of the Bordeaux region. A few decades ago, this region was about to fade away as there was no demand for the wines. Today, the wines are sold all around the world, with this co-op being the foundation of the revival.

A great drinking white wine, I enjoyed the depth of flavour and texture that this wine had.

Fabulous value, elegance and typical ripe flavours of sauvignon blanc nuanced by neutral colombard and excellent lees work.
